Goggling at Christmas lights

(Given my tardiness when it comes to posting, I thought I'd better post this before Easter comes around)

"Where to go to see Christmas lights in the Hornsby shire?" I asked a friend a few weeks ago. She replied, "Grandoaks Place, Castle Hill; Oakleigh Ave, Thornleigh; Sydney Road, Hornsby Heights."

Christmas season, some neighbourhoods go to an incredible extent to light up their houses. The amount of effort and money that is involved in setting up (and running) these lights is mind boggling. The homeowners don't seem to mind people milling about their front yard and taking photos. There is a festive atmosphere as some people dress up as "Santa", ring bells and hand treats around.

Last Christmas, (I wasn't around) Hubs and the two boys visited Sydney Road in Hornsby Heights. He reported almost all the houses on that street were lit up.

Here are my two monkeys taking a pose in front of someone's archway...

This year, we gave Oakleigh road in Thornleigh a visit. Compared to Hornsby Heights, there are fewer houses lit up...but boy, those that are, take your breath away.

In the midst of the sleighs, reindeers and Santa Clauses, quite a number of houses have a manger, and this mantra as well...

Amen!
