What we marvel at...

Newspapers are usually filled with more bad news than good, more whinging and critique than praise, more self-interested publicity stunts than selfless news.

Which is why I was so enamoured by this letter in the local paper:

"I would like to thank the kind person who found my wallet and returned it by bringing it to my address and putting it in my letter box. The wallet's entire contents were intact, including the cash but it is the host of contacts and personal data that are the most important. The honesty of the anonymous person was very much appreciated."

Isn't that beautiful?

A few months ago, as we were exiting the local mall's carpark, we saw this handwritten notice stuck to the pole:

"iPod Touch found. Owner please contact..."

We gaped at the sign as we drove out.
